A Brief History
It's already been quite a ride!
The Story Begins Nikhil Sethi, an Electrical Engineering major, first met his future friend and business partner Garrett Ullom, a Computer Science student, in an undergraduate class at Northwestern University. The pair was teamed up for a class project focused in entrepreneurship during the winter/spring semester of their 2010 school year. It was in this class that the duo first brainstormed the idea for Adaptly.
Incorporation Date Adaptly's official birthday!!
DreamIt Ventures 3-Month Program Nikhil & Garrett submit their idea for the company to DreamIt Ventures, a startup incubator located in Philadelphia and were soon thereafter accepted for the summer session. DreamIt Ventures is a pre-seed stage investment first, with the goal of helping great people with great ideas build great companies. The program began in May and concluded in August with a Demo Day. Demo Day is an invite-only event and is generally the first opportunity for investors to meet the promising startups and hear their business plans.
Big Apple Here We Come. Moving day for Adaptly! Nikhil & Garrett make the big move from their office/apartment in Philadelphia to a small apartment in NYC where they continue to work on and grow the company for the next couple of months.
Series A Funding Adaptly raises $2.7 million in funding. We’re growing...and quickly!
Happy Birthday Adaptly Adaptly turns 1 and celebrates its first year of existence.
Moving Day Part II The Adaptly team (7 employees strong!) moves from the small apartment that doubled as an office to a real office space in New York's "Silicon Alley"!
Adaptly Drops the Dot We make the decision to drop the dot from the original logo "Adapt.ly" to make it more simple and clean.
Brew PR Joins the Family Brew Media Relations joins the Adaptly family as our external PR team!
Adaptly Expands to the UK Adaptly announces the opening of its new office in London and expansion into European markets. As part of this international expansion, we also announce the appointment of Paul Turner as Head of EMEA.
Adaptly Momentum is announced Adaptly Momentum is a new measurement tool created to help our clients understand how powerful their brands are across social networks as well as accounts for every dollar's impact across not only the standard paid metrics (clicks, impressions, CTR's, etc) but also factors in the 160+ social metrics that come from a brand's owned and earned channels. It calculates the brand's overall performance across all mediums whether its paid or organic, online or offline.
Ringing in the New Year Adaptly celebrates the new year with 30 employees strong and still growing!
Wildfire Partnership Wildfire, a social media marketing software company, provides complete tools for brands to create, publish, and manage content to drive engagement. Integrating Adaptly's technology into their software enables marketers to optimize and measure the success of their paid social media. Now for the first time ever, marketers will be able to access content and ad optimization technology in a single integrated solution!
Happy Birthday Adaptly Adaptly turns 2!
Series B Funding
Adaptly has raised $10.5 million in Series B funding, led by
Valhalla Partners, with participation by additional new investors,
Time Warner Investments and Vivi Nevo. All existing investors,
including First Round Capital, have also participated in the round.
Adaptly Opens New Headquarters The growing Adaptly team moves a few blocks south in New York's "Silicon Alley" to its new spacious headquarters on West 19th Street!
